What to Expect in Class
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our foundational curriculum designed for beginners and white belts. This class focuses on essential positions, submissions, and core concepts of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. No experience required. This is the best place to start your BJJ journey.

A mixed-level class focused on skill development, implementation, and progression. Students will drill techniques and apply them through positional and live sparring. Expect to challenge yourself mentally and physically while sharpening timing, decision-making, and execution. No experience required.

Guided situational sparring and open sparring rounds. 4+ months experience recommended.

High-intensity, competition-focused training designed to sharpen your A-game. Classes emphasize competition scenarios, rule-specific strategies, pacing, and tactical decision-making. Competitors AND non-competitors welcome. 4+ months experience recommended.

Advanced class exploring specialized topics within Brazilian jiu-jitsu, such as lapel systems, hybrid guards, and niche submissions. Four months or more experience recommended.

A supportive and structured class for senior students focused on longevity, efficiency, and injury prevention. Techniques and sparring are adapted to mobility and strength considerations while maintaining the integrity of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A welcoming environment for sustainable training at any age.

An unstructured training session where you control your time. Rounds are timed, and students may choose to spar, drill, troubleshoot techniques, ask questions, or simply train at their own pace. No experience required.

A competition-focused training session featuring 10 rounds of live sparring. Designed to give women the opportunity to train with a wide range of styles and experience levels in a supportive, high-level environment. Open to female grapplers from any academy. One year of experience required for non-Kogaion members.
Judo

Our foundational judo curriculum for developing strong stand-up grappling skills. Students will learn breakfalls, grip fighting, fundamental throws, foot sweeps, trips, and basic combinations in a safe and progressive environment. No experience required.

A dynamic class focused on tactical judo, chaining techniques, competition concepts, and live randori. Students refine timing, movement, and strategy while applying techniques under resistance.

A live sparring-focused class consisting of timed rounds of standing grappling. Designed to improve conditioning, reaction time, and practical application of judo techniques.
Muay Thai / Kickboxing
Muay Thai, known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” utilizes punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and clinch work. Classes focus on technical pad work, footwork, conditioning, and controlled sparring. Suitable for all experience levels.
Yoga
Unwind, release tension, and restore balance in this calming yoga class blending gentle flow, Yin, and Restorative practices. Class begins with slow, mindful movement, transitions into long-held Yin postures to target deep connective tissues, and concludes with fully supported restorative poses. Ideal for all levels and perfect for recovery, stress relief, and nervous system regulation.
Kids

A playful, structured introduction to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu designed specifically for young children. Classes focus on balance, coordination, listening skills, and basic grappling movements through games and simple techniques. Students learn how to move safely with a partner, follow instructions, and build confidence in a positive, supportive environment.

A skill-building Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program for older children ready for more structure and challenge. Students learn fundamental positions, escapes, control, and submissions while developing discipline, focus, and resilience. Classes include technique drilling, controlled sparring, and teamwork, helping students grow both on and off the mat.

An engaging program that introduces children to judo through safe falling, balance, throws, and movement. Emphasis is placed on coordination, confidence, respect, and having fun while learning effective grappling skills.
