Powerhouse Performances: Our Women of Jiu-Jitsu Shine Bright Across Every Mat
This past weekend was a landmark one for our women’s jiu-jitsu team, showcasing skill, strength, and the kind of heart that defines true martial artists.
🏆 Superfight & American Nationals Victory
Coach Beatrice Jin led the charge, taking home a superfight win and a gold medal at IBJJF American Nationals. Kogaion has become one of the only independent, unaffiliated academies in the United States to produce a home grown (white to black belt) elite athlete at the adult black belt level. Our vision remains to keep our training room highly technical in the spirit of mutual benefit and community, whether you train for fun or for competition.
🤝 Female-Only Quintet Wins Local Charity Event
This Saturday three of our athletes formed part of a five-woman quintet team that competed at a special event supporting mental health awareness. They battled through tough matches and came out on top, securing first place at the charity tournament. More than just a win, it was a powerful reminder of how martial arts can unite women and uplift communities.
These women aren't just competitors—they’re leaders, teammates, and role models. Whether it's standing on the podium or showing up to support a cause, they represent everything that’s great about jiu-jitsu.
💪 Still Showing Up: Women's Open Mat the Very Next Day
As if that wasn't enough, the day after each competition, our doors were still open for women’s open mat—and they came in force. Athletes from multiple schools across the region gathered to train, share techniques, and celebrate each other's successes. Tired bodies, but full hearts and sharp minds—this is the kind of environment that grows champions. The mat is always open, and our community always shows up.
